Alerta Kids is a childproofing agency that provides essential information and child safety equipment in order to prevent unnecessary childhood injuries. Through our services we support parents, carers, childminders, nannies and all those who look after young children.
Alerta Kids specialises in injury prevention and promotes the general well being for pre-school children (aged 0 to 5). We identify dangers children can be exposed to and help implement safety measures according to their different stages of development.
All the services we offer not only put child safety in first place, but also help parents, carers and professionals to do their job more easily and adequately. Alerta Kids does not underestimate the difficulties and the immense responsibility of looking after children and therefore we set out to reduce childhood injury at all costs.
Regrettably childhood injury and death caused by accidents in the home are still very high. Every year many children who suffer accidents at home, in the garden, in parks, nearby ponds, beaches or swimming pools are left with fatal, permanent or traumatic injuries that could have been prevented. This is a problem affecting not only the children involved but also their families, communities and the health services that look after them.
We could say the main causes of childhood accidents are the lack of information and a certain mentality of taking risks and leaving things to chance in the hope that everything will be all right. We believe that we have got to make a big effort to change these views and recognise that one needs to prioritise childhood safety. It is of the utmost importance to promote children well being and take preventive measures against accidents.
